Elizabeth Berner lived most of her professional life in and around the Brooklyn, New York area. She was highly influenced by the work of William Merritt Chase and Childe Hassam and painted outdoors and executed impressionistic landscapes and seascapes in a swift, confident manner. She was a member of the Society of Independent Artists and is listed in Who’s Who in American Art (1924) and Who Was Who in American Art, volume 1, page 297.
