Born to a family of Italian and French immigrants, Michele Usibelli has spent a lifetime pursuing both creativity and exploration. After earning a degree in Architecture from the University of Washington she balanced a successful professional career with an enduring passion for travel, drawing inspiration from the people, places, and experiences she encountered along the way. Her artistic foundation was shaped by the Russian Impressionist tradition, emphasizing the observation of light, color, and form through expressive, confident brushwork. Deeply influenced by masters such as Nicolai Fechin, John Singer Sargent, and William Merritt Chase, Usibelli has developed a distinctive artistic voice that blends classical training with a contemporary sensibility. Working primarily in oils, while also excelling in acrylics, gouache, and watercolor, she creates compelling still lifes, landscapes, cityscapes, and figurative works unified by rich impasto, luminous color, and exceptional technical skill. Her commitment to authenticity ensures that each painting is a unique original, a quality that has led collectors to remark that her work is instantly recognizable from across a room.
